Dear Fellow Greeters,

Thank you all for stepping forward to help welcome our members and guests at the early service on Sunday mornings. As we say at each Service, "Whoever you are and wherever you are on life's journey, you are welcome here at Christ Church." You are the first points of contact and can make a big difference in how comfortable and connected people feel when they come in. It's an important and valuable service and we appreciate your willingness to come a little early for this. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the Service.

Because more people are entering the sanctuary through the atrium in Barnwell Hall, we now have a greeter positioned there as well as at the two front doors. This has resulted in two families/individuals being scheduled for each week and the need for greeters to be on the schedule for 3 or 4 Sundays during the year. I hope that this won't be too big an inconvenience for anyone. I'll leave it to the people scheduled for each week to work out between themselves who will cover which doors. I only ask that preference for covering the atrium door be given to greeters who are older or who have mobility problems.

I have attached the Schedule for 2006-2007. Please look over the list and mark your calendars accordingly. Where a name is listed with a first initial, it identifies an individual rather than a family (i.e, A. Parker means just Ann greeting). All other names refer to families. I have tried to accommodate the dates that people said they were available. If you are unable to handle an assigned date, please arrange to switch with someone on the list or find some other substitute. Paul Tukey will be updating the Greeters email on the Church website (thanks, Paul!), so you can easily see how to contact someone. Should you have any trouble in finding a replacement, please call me at (908)598-1096.

You'll note that I didn't schedule anyone for Dec. 25th. (I didn't want to arbitrarily assign it) Please let me know if you can volunteer for that date. If so, I'll try to free up one of your other dates.

If you have any questions about the schedule or about any aspects of being a greeter, please don't hesitate to call or email me (or speak to me at church).

Thanks again.
