The Choirs
Chancel Choir
As Christ Church's main choir, the Chancel Choir sings during the 9:30 a.m. service each Sunday. The group's repertoire includes a wide range of styles, from Classical to Gospel. There are also special services throughout the year in which the choir sings larger works, such as Christmas
and Easter. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 8:00 until 9:30 p.m. in Lile Hall, and is open to adults as well as high school students.
Genesis Choir
Genesis Choir is for children in 2nd through 7th grades. The choir is directed by Alison Vidal and rehearses after Sunday School at 10:45 a.m., and sings in church services throughout the year. They also participate in the Christmas Pageant on Christmas Eve. The group gets familiar with vocal warm-ups to strengthen the voice, and moves on to more advanced music as the year progresses, culminating in part-singing.
Church Mice
This is the church's youngest choir, for pre-K through 1st grade. Church Mice is directed by Alison Vidal and rehearses on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:00 a.m., before Sunday School. The focus is on movement with music and helping the children to find their singing voices - and of course, having fun! The choir sings in church services throughout the year, and also participates in the Christmas Pageant on Christmas Eve.
Men's Chorus and Women's Chorus
Each year the men and women of the Chancel Choir join with congregation members to present special works for male or female chorus in Sunday Services.
