Faith Formation

Faith formation for every age and every stage

From early childhood through adulthood, we create spaces for learning, service, fellowship, and thoughtful engagement with faith in today’s world. Explore our full calendar to learn more about specific programs and upcoming events.

Upcoming Events

Children

Our Children’s Ministry provides a welcoming and joyful environment where young people begin to explore the stories and practices of the Christian faith. We offer age-based Sunday programming throughout the year, along with special seasonal events and family service opportunities. Children ages 2 through Grade 1 are invited to join the Church Mice Choir during the service for singing and games.  Sunday school gathers preschool through Grade 6 students during the sermon portion of worship, where Bible lessons come alive through stories, games, arts, crafts, and other hands-on activities.

Youth

Our Youth Ministry is centered on fellowship, service, and spiritual exploration during the middle and high school years. Youth gather regularly for meetings that include discussion, shared meals, and community-building activities. Throughout the year, they participate in service projects and outreach initiatives, and they travel together for experiences that deepen both faith and friendship.

Recent and ongoing activities include:

  • Annual service trips (2024 North Carolina, 2025 Namibia, 2026 Hawaii)
  • Seasonal retreats such as our fall retreat, annual ski trip, and confirmation retreat
  • Local service projects with Community Food Bank of NJ and others
  • Biweekly youth gatherings focused on discussion and reflection

Adults

Adult Faith Formation offers opportunities for thoughtful conversation and continued spiritual growth. Programming varies from year to year in response to the interests of our community and has included programs on global events and theology, book discussion groups, Lenten Bible study, and seasonal forums. These gatherings invite open dialogue, reflection, and connection across generations.  Women are welcome to join an annual weekend retreat typically held in February.

Intergenerational

Throughout the year, the whole congregation comes together across generations and interests in faith formation events. We host an annual whole church retreat in the fall, with service projects and family game nights through the year. A beloved annual tradition is our Advent Craft Workshop complete with a chili lunch and carol sing.  These intergenerational gatherings create space for connection beyond Sunday mornings, building bonds across age groups.
